ANOTHER KILLED IN POLITICAL VENDETTA

A machine pistol with rapid fire, and a .45 caliber pistol was used in killing a political leader in BAcong. Victim Raynante Alabastro, was a supporter of Mayor-elect Lenin Alviola.

Running against Alviola was Rudy Yee, his former vice mayor, who ran against Alviola last May l4 and lost.

Immediately in such a small town, talks circulated that the provincial attorney who defended Yee in his graft cases against Alviola, might have a possible hand. But provincial attorney Erwin Vergara instead said, that he cautioned political leaders in BAcong not to make insinuations as it might hamper the current investigation.
Story goes that before his death, Alabastro had a heated argument with one Lando Laceda on the issue of sand and gravel business which is thriving in Bacong. Now Lacada seems to be missing from his usual hangouts. ATty Vergara ‘s reappointment as provincial attorney hangs on the balance because of objections from mayors affiliated in the opposite party. But reports say, Vergara enjoys the confidence of the governor who might be inclined to reappoint him. -30-
