Businessman’s suspect killer identified

The police have already identified one of the suspects who shot dead a young businessman here in Dumaguete City the other night.

Kent Lariosa, owner of Kent Cell Shop, was shot to death by 4 persons on board a motorcycle while he was on his way home together with his wife. Lariosa and his wife were on board their service vehicle when they were waylaid by suspects on board two motorcycles. The suspects fired at the victim hitting him twice on his side with the bullet going straight to his chest causing his untimely demise. The victim was then declared dead on arrival at the Holy Child Hospital.

According to Supt. Leopoldo Cabanag, Dumaguete City Chief of Police revealed that they already have a suspect named Jessie Misamis from Canday-ong. However, Misamis’ accomplices were not yet identified. Supt. Cabanag said the possible motive could be revenge since Misamis is a suspect of stealing a cellular phone at the victim’s cell shop. He was also allegedly mauled by the victim and was charged in court. All of these may lead to the possibility that Misamis is responsible for the crime.

Cabanag added that Misamis was already nowhere to be found and has not come home in his residence in Canay-ong since the incident. He said Misamis is one of the notorious hold-uppers here in the city that belongs to the police watchlist.
