| Controversial provision likely to be removed There is a big chance that the controversial provision on the Cheaper Medicine Bill which prohibits doctors from prescribing the brand name of the medicine to their patients be removed said Second District Congressman George Arnaiz.
According to Arniaz, the controversial provision was just inserted in the house version which was greatly opposed by the union of doctors. However, according to Arnaiz, in the senate version the original provision is still intact which says that the generic name should be prescribed and the doctor has an option whether to write the brand name or not.
Because of this, Congressman Arnaiz disclosed that there is a big possibility that the controversial provision in the house version be removed especially that the Department of Health changed its former stand.
