Dumaguete Official dom support RP Bishops' call

Some of the cohorts of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo here in the province agree with the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines’ (CBCP) call for the chief executive officer to revoke Executive Order 464 which prevents the members of the cabinet to testify on the investigations that are now done.

According to Dumaguete City Mayor Agustin Perdices, it is important for the president to give her consent to her officials to testify in the senate which is now inquiring about the anomalous ZTE Broadband Deal. He added that if the palace has nothing to hide, it should let its officials face the investigations. As o now, he said, the people are in great doubt regarding the issue.

Perdices disclosed that everybody wants the truth but the issue is agitated since only one side of the matter is presented.

Vice-governor Jose Petit Baldado said he is also in favor of revoking Executive Order 464 so that the truth will come out. He said that the palace has nothing to fear if the government is not hiding anything anomalous. However, the vice-governor does not have any stand regarding the controversial NBN deal which is now engulfing the country.
