Lad in Valencia kidnapped?

Human Rights Group Karapatan Negros Island strongly denied the allegation that they kidnapped a 22-year old boy in Barangay Dobdob, Valencia town.

In a text message, Fred Cana, Secretary General of Karapatan, said that the allegation is only “fabricated” in order to destroy their group. He added that he did not receive a report on abduction and it is impossible for Karapatan to be involved in kidnapping.

Earlier, the mother of Catalino, Anita Ortega, reported last July 7 to Mayor Rodolfo Gonzales of Valencia regarding the disappearance of her son. According to her, she last saw her son on June 29 who left Dobdob along with 5 unidentified men.

Valencia Police Chief Angelito Ramada said that Anita, however, did not come back to follow up the case about her son. The police are not trying to trace the location of Catalino and confirm the report regarding his alleged kidnapping.

Ramada asked Anita nd Dobdob Barangay Captain Gilberto Darias to report to the police station so that the police could get any progress of the case.
