| CAPITOL TO "ABOLISH" MONDAY FLAG RAISING RITES?
Gov Dodo Macias has plans to do away with the traditional Monday flag raising ceremonies, if as usual, many officials and employees are absent if not mostly arrive late , coming to office after 8am. On a Monday. But the provincial board is not keen in implementing this kind of executive order because it will first see if the flag raising ceremony is itself embodied in an ordinance. If so, then the guv may have to seek its amendment or termination. But what will the nationalists say? Dodo becomes the only governor who does not formally raise the Philippine flag on Mondays ,at the start of the week. Yet he could be the only one to do flag raising on another day. But his main point is to encourage prompt arrival in their respective offices, and give a cue to chiefs of offices to instill discipline and make everybody come before 8am sharp on Mondays and every working day. |
