Muslim Community here does not support MILF

The Muslim Community here in the province has assured that they will not let the MILF rebels to enter and join their community. This was disclosed by Elias Magdara, President of the Ekhwanol Muslimen Association Incorporated who was interviewed over DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight at their community’s mosque located at San Jose Extension, Dumaguete City.

The Ekhwanol Muslimen Association Incorporated, according to Magdara, has about 500 muslim family members here in the city and the whole province of Negros Oriental. Magdara said he has already alerted his subordinates to inform the authorities for the possible entry of the MILF rebels in their community who will be seeking shelter upon the military’s offensive measures aimed against them.

It can be recalled that members of the MILF attacked four towns in Lanao del Norte wherein more than 30 civilian fatalities were recorded. The MILF has also burnt down a public school and some business establishments after robbing.

Magdara said they will not participate with the chaos that is happening in Mindanao. He added that they came here in Negros Oriental since it is peaceful here and they could not allow anybody to destruct the solemnity and the peace here. He said they are already contented with their present status and livelihood.

Also, Magdara asked the country’s administration to speed up in solving the problem and chaos in Mindano. Although he is saddened with what the MILF has done, he claimed that the government needs to address the requests of the MILF. Magdara disclosed that most pitiful in the situation are the civilians.
