NegOr PNP tops Region VII

Dumaguete City 1:00 p.m. --- For maintaining a good effective administration especially during the last elections, the Negros Oriental Philippine National Police command was cited as the top in region 7 in maintaining the peace during the may 14 elections.
Although there were killings and ambushcades, the conduct of the may electioins was generally peaceful, and the had the least number of violent electioin related incidents on and about election day.
The pre-election season in Negros Oriental was marred by an ambush in the hotly contested first district, in the town of La Libertad where a barangay captain was killed together with six others.
