Prov’l Police Director okeys cellphone prohibition in banks

The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office Director nods at the prohibition of cellphone usage inside the bank. However, this would only apply in a case-to-case basis.

Last night, Sr/Supt Augusto Marquez Jr converged with the Negros Oriental Bankers Association in order to tackle the issues of bank security. This is in order to prevent bank robberies here although no bank robbery incidents happened yet.

Earlier, businessmen here in the city objected the prohibition of cellphones inside the bank since this could effect their business. According to Col. Marquez who was interviewed over DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight, only those who have suspicious actions will be prohibited from using their cellular phones inside the bank. Col. Marquez added that businessmen and clients here in the city are already familiar thus; it would no longer be difficult to identify them.
