GUIHULNGAN SHERIFF?

Guihulngan July 13 2007 - - - Police suspect NPA hitmen shot and killed the city sheriff of Guihulngan, a newly declared city, five days before the scheduled plebiscite on the new Guihulngan City Charter ratification day by the people come Saturday July 14.
Killed on the spot was Sheriff Ricky Montijar, 45 years old, a sophomore law student at the Guihulngan State University who was shot past 9 p.m. when he got out of school.
As a close associate of RTC Judge Mario Trinidad who also teaches there, he missed riding with the judge and instead took his own motorbike.
He was on his way home to Carmenville subdivision there.
Police theorized that the motive could have arisen to duty-related jobs, or personal grudge. The NPA angle is still unconfirmed, nobody has taken responsibility on the murder.
PNP provincial director Sr Supt Ramon Buenafe ordered a quick but thorough investigation.
