Dumaguete Exceeds Expected Tax Collection

With an annual target of Php43,241,195.00 and an amount of Php 25, 944,717.00 as the estimated collection for the second quarter of the year which comprises the 60 per cent of the total collection, Dumaguete City has collected a total of Php 30,343,212.54.
Because of this, the city has made it to the number one spot in the Second Quarter Collection Efficiency for Region VII besting the other eleven more cities in the region.
Statistics show that Dumaguete has attained a collection efficiency of 116.95 percent.
City Treasurer Cristina Merced received a Certificate of Recognition from the Bureau of Local Government Finance of the Department of Finance in Region VII recently for the said accomplishment. The award was given last September 13-14 during the Third Quarter Regional Seminar on Evaluation of Collections of Provincial and City Treasurers.
