NegOr: World Class Spot

The Department of Tourism has recognized Negros Oriental as one of the best places in the world after it was included as one of the top 20 best places to live in the world in the international Islands Magazine.
Governor Emilio Macias II has been very delighted that the Department of Tourism has something good to say about Negros Oriental. The province was one of the places in which foreigners who joined the survey included as the world’s best places to live in.
Tourism Secretary Joseph Durano stressed that the respondents have cited Dumaguete City as the home of famous tourist attractions, cafes, art galleries and is an academic center aside from the weather condition, language used, transportation and accessibility to important places as the main factors considered in the survey.
Among the tourist spots recognized are Apo Island which is the world famous diving destination, the dolphin capital of the province, Bais City and the numerous marine sanctuaries and protected areas in the province.
Gov. Macias said this is a positive development of the province and challenged everybody to prove the province’s world class recognition as the province should further develop its tourist spots as well as create and embark new ones.
