Baldado Calls for Politician’s Help
“No Negrense should die for reasons that he cannot afford to be hospitalized or afford a health care program,” quotes Jose “Petit” Baldado, Negros Oriental Vice-Governor in his call for other politicians to extend financial and medical help to the poor in an insurance program for the indigents.
Baldado is the presiding officer of the Negros Oriental Provincial Board and he observed that the needy had to beg and sometimes even kneel down in front of a politician in order to acquire the necessary help that he needs in matters of medical and health care.
According to him, the help given by politicians are sometimes politically motivated as when these indigents are identified to be allies of the other political camp; they would just be given a run around or be given less.
