ARE THERE GHOST BRGY KAGAWADS?
Negros Oriental Election Supervisor Eddie Aba assures the public that his office is going to evaluate and confirm the existence of a ghost barangay kagawad and tanod in a particular district which he describes as “highly improbable”.
Aba said that the province’s voter’s list has been scrutinized from ghost and flying voters as to prevent from election fraud especially in areas where cheating has been suspected.
He addressed the politicians to stay neutral in the coming Barangay and SK elections on October 29.
Barangay tanods who are appointed by the barangay chairmen are not allowed to get inside the 50 meter radius from the polling precincts as what is stated in the Fair Elections Act.
Even personnel from the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces and other politicians are strictly banned from the polling precincts until the Election Day. After being able to vote, these identities are also advised to leave.
