HAZING Practices Intensifies
Cases of violations against the Anti-Hazing Law intensify as another fraternity has been nabbed by the police for exercising illegal initiation rites.
The Respect Innocent People (RIP) Fraternity members of Canlaon, Oriental Negros were caught in a raid while doing their initiation rites to the applicants of their Brotherhood.
Based on a tip given by residents of the city, the fraternity is allegedly beating their new members using a piece of wood as a paddle.
According to police report, of the 17 arrested fraternity members from which 13 are minors, some possess bruises in their body parts which indicate a cruel beating.
After the operation, the minors are turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office while the 4, who are of 18 years and more, are brought to the Police Station for interrogation.
