American Soldiers help build houses for poor Filipinos
Around thirty American soldiers on board their battling ship helped put up houses for the less fortunate Filipinos last Sunday at Bais City.
The event was spearheaded by Bais City Mayor Hector Villanueva and other local officials of Barangay La Paz.
Mayor Villanueva revealed that that his administration allotted 6 hectares of land intended for the housing projects for the poor Baisanons.
There are 17 houses which are presently standing in the area and another 20 houses are still being built in which the American soldiers partake in its construction.
This project of the local government of Bais is supported by Gawad Kalinga, an institution that campaigns for a decent residence for every Filipino.
Mayor Villanueva thanked the American soldiers for spending time and effort for the construction of the houses o the Baisanons.
The Mayor added that at present, there are 58 enlisted beneficiaries of the housing project.
