Committee Exposes Irregularities at CA
The City Council Committee on Good Governance and Public Ethics has already unveiled the anomalies inside the City Agriculture’s office, said Councilor Tony Remollo who is the Chairman of the said committee.
However, because there is no quorum of the members of the committee, the report is still not completed which will be later on reported to the city council.
Councilor Remollo revealed that they have found out that the income of the “Grow now Pay Later” program was deposited in a cooperative instead of being deposited in government banks.
Another anomaly revealed in the investigation is that within two years, no income from the city farmstead has got into the government’s coffers.
Remollo added that with the 7 tons of iron sold, only Php 1,000 has entered into the City Treasurer’s Office.
Remollo also exposed that with all these anomalies, City Agriculturist Alfredo delos Santos has neglected his responsibilities.
The committee is now recommending that the city internal auditor should move in order to prevent irregularities.
