Village Chiefs Share Different views on Auxiliary Police

If the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) President, Councilor Raul Infante, is hesitant to support the Ordinance which will create an Auxiliary Police, Mangnao Barangay Captain Ricardo Valencia readily agrees with such proposition.

According to Captain Valencia, the city needs the auxiliary police to maintain peace and order situation in the city o Dumaguete.

He also admitted that it is very essential to professionalize the barangay tanods so that they could effectively function for their duties.

Earlier, Councilor Infante disclosed that if the auxiliary police will exist, probably, there will be no more applicants as barangay tanods but will directly apply as an auxiliary police since it pays more.

Infante believes that every barangay truly needs the barangay tanods.
