Man killed with
purchased bamboo pole
A man was declared dead on arrival in the hospital after he was smashed by the bamboo pole which he bought at Tubtubon, Sibulan town last January 2.
The victim was identified by police authorities as Richie Cuevas, 29, married and a resident of Barangay Junob, Dumaguete City.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Cuevas bought 4 bamboo poles at 6 meters length each. He then transported his purchased bamboo in a tricycle driven by Nefe Barbon, 45 and a native of Sibulan town.
While the tricycle is traveling with the bamboo poles loaded in it, Cuevas was behind the tricycle riding on his motorcycle. One of the bamboo poles got loose and directly smashed into Cuevas’ chest. The bamboo stabbed the victim causing his untimely death.
