Osmena guarantees no
eviction for municipio
Former Senator and now President of Pamplona Plantation Holdings Plantation Incorporated John Osmena guaranteed that he will not expel the Pamplona municipio from where it stands now.
In an interview at DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight, Osmena disclosed that as an answer to his letter, Pamplona Mayor Apolinario Arnaiz Jr, has tasked their municipal assessor to check the records of the lot where the municipio, a church and some squatters are taking post in order to determine the real and sole owner of the land. According to Osmena, this is also what the Pamplona Plantation is doing.
If ever proven that the land is really owned by the plantation, Osmena said he will not abolish the municipio and the church, rather, he is ready to donate the land.
On matters about the infrastructures and private individuals who are squatting in the area, Osmena said that he will decide on it in a case-to-case basis.
He advised the occupants of the lot not to pay any amount to some who pretend to be representatives of the Pamplona Plantation Holdings Incorporated or whoever who claims to be the real owner of the land. The former senator said that the occupants should instead find and secure their documents which could help them like deeds of sale, receipts, maps and others.
Osmena added that after they have made their inquiries at the Bureau of Land Management and at the Bureau of Deeds, he will call for a meeting with all the people concerned and that will be the time where they will discuss the situation of the residents.
