Pamplona lot possibly donated

There are about 400 lots which are owned by Pamplona Plantation Holdings Incorporated and this is the reason why the plantation has just claimed for the ownership of the land, after a very long period, where the Pamplona municipio is located.

Former Senator and now President of Pamplona Plantation Holdings Incorporated John Osmena, who owns 77 % shares of stock of the plantation, explained that they own about 1000 hectares of land but some of these lots were already donated to Negros Oreintal State University, Silliman University, Department of Agriculture and some were donated under CARP. Because of this, from a thousand of hectares, the plantation now only owns about 600 hectares of land.

Osmena revealed at DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight that in the year 1906, the original owner of the land is the founder of Silliman University, Dr. Horace B. Silliman. He added that this lot was also owned by corporations and individuals like Julio Sy, Noel Cayetano and others. In the 1924, he related, this lot was purchased by Pamplona Plantation Holdings Incorporated with lot number 3572.

However, Osmena clarified and guaranteed the residents and occupants in the area since he is ready for negotiations after all inquiries of the documents have been done.

Osmena admitted that there is a possibility that the lot where the municipio and the church are erected has already been donated by the original owners of the land. This is the reason why they are currently working together with the Bureau of Land Management and the Register of Deeds.
