Katakgahan, Tulongon still live in darkness

Nearly two million pesos worth of check was handed by Second District Congressman George Arnaiz to NORECO-1 General Manager Lito Cariaga last March 1 in front of the residents of Bais City.

According to Congressman Arnaiz, the money is intended to energize two of the barangays of the said city. Arnaiz said that he has asked the fund from the National Electrification Administration (NEA) last week.

Some 2 hundred families of Sitio Sarya, Barangay Katakgahan of Bais City can directly benefit the nearly half a million pesos allotted for their place while other families in Talungon Extension, Barangay Talungon of the same city could also utilize another half a million pesos intended for the lighting of their place.

Meanwhile, another 800 thousand pesos was given by Congressman Arnaiz to NORECO 1 for the street lights of Sitio Tiki, Barangay Himukdungon, Mabinay town which has long been requested by the residents of the said place.

Congressman Arnaiz is hopeful that the change in their community could also help change the livelihood of the residents of the said places.
