Strikers sued for abuse of children and women
The district chairman of the Associated Labor Union – Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP) Felizardo “Feling” Calimpong is sued by the Provincial Police Director because of his alleged infringement of the law.
The legal suit is in connection with the dispersal that happened at the port last Saturday wherein the minor children and the wives of the picketers were used as front liners and human shields.
According to Police Provincial Director Colonel Melvin Ramon Buenafe that it is a great violation to use the children in any illegal act and the parents are accountable for such act of involving their children in their picket.
Sued are Calimpong along with his subordinates. The Women’s Desk of the police is also readying the possible raps that would be filed to Calimpong and his companions for abusing the women.
