Alleged NPA members nabbed
Two suspected members of the communist New People’s Army were arrested last Tuesday in the hinterlands of Sibulan town.
The suspects were identified as Julito Rizaldo Alban a.k.a. “Ka Budoy”, 35 years old, married and a native of Bohol and one Benjamin Quimada Edoloverio, 25 years old, single who hails from Talamban, Cebu.
The arrest of the two was a result of the immediate action conducted by the authorities after receiving the order from the provincial police command towards the 79th Infantry Battalion led by Lt. Col Nestor Porlucas.
Based on the report, the two were sighted in Barangay Enrique Villanueva of Sibulan town and were right away responded by the military at around 5 in the afternoon. Seized from the suspects are 8 rounds of live ammunition, a 9 mm fire arm, a pair of scissor, a black bag, dried tobacco and others.
Porlucas said that they have strong belief that the two are members of the Central Visayas Regional Committee of the New People’s Army that arrived here in the province in the month of November of last year.
