Enough rice supply for NegOr
The province of Negros Oriental has about 70 percent of sufficient supply of rice and corn here despite allegations of rice and corn shortage.
Provincial Agriculturist Gregorio Paltinca cleared that it is not true that there is food shortage here in the province since they are still continuously delivering rice and corn not only in the province but even to other places. Paltinca added that in fact, harvesting of rice and corn grains has already started this month.
However, Paltinca pointed out that this present problem on the alleged food shortage has helped a lot to farmers since they are striving to do all means they can despite the high price of fertilizers.
Paltinca disclosed that they are presently promoting some programs like the usage of organic fertilizer and lesser amount of non-organic fertilizer in their crops.
Just like the other officials’ campaign, Paltinca is also asking the public to save rice in order not to feel too much burden regarding the alleged food shortage which not only the country experiences but all throughout the world.
