| UPDATE FOR JOURNALISTS COVERING PACQUIAO-DIAZ FIGHT By Granville Ampong
Magna Media International, the public relations arm representing Top Rank, HBO PPV and MGM Mirage, has sent confirmation earlier via e-mail about credential status for journalists who are permitted to cover the fight between WBC Lightweight Champion David Diaz and WBC Superfeatherweight Champion Emmanuel "Pacman" Pacquiao for the weight class at 135 pounds, dubbed "Lethal Combination", this June 28, 2005 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
FIGHT WEEK SCHEDULE: Arrival ceremonies are planned for Tuesday, June 24 at the main hotel entrance to Mandalay Bay at 11 a.m. for Diaz and 11:30 a.m. for Pacquiao in the Events Center ring. Media Center opens at 9 a.m. in the Club Rooms of the Mandalay Bay Events Center and remains open until 6 p.m. each evening and until midnight of Saturday.
For Wednesday, June 25, a media luncheon is scheduled for noon and the final news conference at 1 p.m., both in the Media Center.
For Friday, June 27, the weigh-in will take place in the Mandalay Events Center at 2:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
CREDENTIALS: Beginning Tuesday, June 24 at 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. each day, temporary "fight week" credentials may be claimed from the desk located near the Box Office at the main entrance hallway to the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Credentialed journalists may claim their fight-night official credentials beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, in the same location, until 7 p.m. Photo ID processing will be available in the same location from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday if one has not yet attended an MGM MIRAGE boxing event in the past two years. Photo processing also is available on Saturday, which may take a little extra time.
All journalists are reminded that recording devices of any kind are not permitted inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center during the fight.
Stay tune. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: Granville Ampong, an L.A. based-journalist, is credentialed to cover Pacquiao-Diaz fight through the MANILA-US TIMES for TOP RANK, HBO PPV and MGM MIRAGE. | |
