Additional Police Force to secure athletes
Additional police officers from the Provincial Police Office are sent here in Dumaguete in order to assist in maintaining peace and order here in the city during the conduct of the 3rd Philippine Olympic Committee All Visayas Qualifying Games. This was found out by DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight from Senior Inspector Rodolfo Serrano, Deputy Chief of the Dumaguete City Police.
According to Senior Inspector Serrano, members of the SWAT and the Provincial Mobile Group will enhance the police force here and they will be assigned to the different schools which will house the delegates. These schools include Piapi Elementary School, Negros Oriental High School, NORSU, West City Elementary School and Dumaguete City High School.
Senior Inspector Serrano disclosed that the assigned beat patrols of the policemen here will continue as is so that the delinquents cannot make their moves to victimize the public especially that a big event is in progress. He also explained that the augmentation given by the Provincial Police is tasked to provide security to the delegates and officials who will come to the city.
