Market rental follows antic rate
Market Superintendent Engr. Roni Fortin clarified and admittedly pointed out as true the statement of Councilor Chiquitting Sagarbarria that the Dumaguete City Public Market is losing much money because the rent of the stalls inside the public market is still based in the old rate.
According to Fortin, the said rate used by the stalls being rented is still the rate being followed since the year 1988 where the mandated rent is only P4.00 to P6.00 per day.
Fortin also pointed out that one of the factors contributing to the huge amount o maintenance at the public market is the extreme usage of electricity.
