Police Sued can STILL be Promoted
Pending legal charges against law enforcers will no longer hurdle policemen’s promotion.
The congress is already in its second reading to amend the law that no policeman will be promoted if he has a pending legal case in court.
Regional 7 Director of the National Police Commission said that Cebu congressman Eduardo Gullas guaranteed that he will push for the changes.
Dir. Calibo said under the Civil Service Law, any policeman who has pending legal charges will not be a hindrance for his promotion and because policemen are under the civil service, they are subjected to follow its orders.
However, the constitutional law has been a hindrance to this that is why an amendment is now being processed so that rightful law enforcers who are facing legal charges can still be promoted.
