DepEd Supt forbids Party Contributions
The City Schools Division Superintendent warned the school principals of the different public schools in the city to refrain from asking for contributions from their students for their Christmas Parties.
The reminder from Superintendent Licerio Napao is linked with the order from the Department of Education to continue the cost-cutting measures which he said have been practiced even before.
According to Napao, the Christmas Parties should be simple but memorable to the students even without contributions.
He added that the party should follow the “bring your own baon” or potluck style and the students should not give very expensive gifts for their manitas and manitos.
On the other hand, Supt. Napao finds the Christmas bonus given by government to government workers as a meager amount only.
Government employees have Php 5000 cash gift as their Christmas bonus.
Napao said it would be better if the cash gift would amount to Php10000 so that government employees can buy more.
