Police ordered to implement
maximum tolerance
The Regional Police Director of Region 7 encouraged all the graduates of the Civil Disturbance Management Training or CDM to implement maximum tolerance at all times.
This was lauded by Chief Supt Ronald Roderos in his speech during the graduation of the 44 police officers in the city and the province who joined the CDM Training at Camp Fernandez in Agan-an yesterday.
Of the 44 graduates, 4 of which are women. According to PO3 Edilberto Euroba, spokesperson of the Provincial Police who was interviewed at DYEM Energy Fm Dumaguete Tonight, said that General Roderos has also ordered to implement everything that they have learned during the training.
Although, it is very seldom that rallies arise here in the city or dispersal of picketers abound, PO3 Euroba said that it is best for the police officers to train ahead and be prepared for any incident that may arise. PO3 Euroba also admitted that they lack necessary equipment to disperse picketers. These include headgears that is why during the melee that happened at the port last March 29, some police officers sustained wounds in their heads.
Yesterday, General Roderos inspected the peace and order situation at the port especially that President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is scheduled to visit here. He also met with Governor Emilio Macias and Mayor Agustin Perdices to discuss about the possible peaceful resolution of the port conflict.
