A high ranking leader of the New People’s Army who was wounded during the encounter between them and the government authorities last month in Guihulngan town was captured in Argao, Cebu yesterday afternoon by the members of the Regional Mobile Group headed by Sr/Supt Jesus Gacquing.

This was revealed by Regional Police Office 7 Regional Director Chief Supt Ronald Roderos. He identified the suspect as Alex Hugo.

According to General Roderos, Hugo attempted to escape but was outdone by the authorities because he is wounded and was not able to go very far. A fire arm was confiscated from him.

Charges illegal possession of fire arms and live ammunition and infringement of the forestry code were also filed against him yesterday.
