Merchants Bank to file raps vs Messenger
The former decision of a bank here in the city was changed after they figured out to file a case against their messenger who staged a robbery incident to the P182, 000 which he was supposed to deposit to another bank.
According to Dumaguete City Chief of Police Sr/Supt Leopoldo Cabanag, the management of the Merchants Bank changed its former stand and decided to push a legal case against their messenger Pablicito Paclauna. Because of this, police authorities are studying the possibility of filing an estafa case against the messenger.
Col Cabanag said that they have already freed Paclauna since the 36-hour detention time has been through.
Earlier, the officer-in-charge of Merchants Bank disclosed that they will not file any legal charges against Paclauna but they will remove him from service. Paclauna was tasked to deposit P182, 000 to Metro Bank last week but instead of depositing the money, he went home and hid the money in his house located in Banilad, Bacong. After hiding the money, he went straight to the police and reported that he was robbed of the money.
However, upon the interrogation of the police, it was found out that Paclauna only made up the story so he can keep the money which Paclauna admitted himself. The money was recovered but was lacking P2, 000.
