Guihulngan brgy fire ambushed
The Commanding Officer of the 11th Infantry Battalion clarified that the communist rebels only wanted to impose harassment upon giving the residents of Barangay Trinidad in Guihulngan City who chose to cooperate with the government authorities a shower of bullets.
This was disclosed by Lt Col Franco Nemesio Gacal who was interviewed over DYEM Energy FM Damaged Tonight. According to him, what happened in Barangay Trinidad was only a “fire ambush” meaning they never really intended to kill but to impose fear in the area.
On the other hand, Col Gacal immediately set aside the allegation that the military did the fire ambush and had the NPA answer the crime instead. He disclosed that it is very clear that the NPAs are on the move just like their recent attack to a CAFGU detachment unit in Binubuhan and the murder of a civilian volunteer in Barangay Maniac, Guihulngan City.
Col Gacal explained that the rebels were terrified after ten residents in the area refused to give their support to communist rebels.
