Class suit against NORECO 2 boys
The legal counsel of the candidate for the Board of Directors of NORECO District 1 will file legal charges against the members of the District Election Committee who resigned resulting to the failure of the elections last February 23 at Amlan, Pamplona and Tanjay City.
This was disclosed by Atty Jun de Leon who is one of the legal counsels of Henry Tam. According to him, they are now preparing class suits against former DECOM Chairman Edwin Teves, Junjun Munoz and another one. De Leon said that their resignation was very short of time. The election was supposed to take place last February 23.
Atty de Leon added that the Board of Directors of NORECO 2 still has time to appoint new members of the DECOM but, de Leon said, they failed to do so. De Leon also threatened that if NORECO District 1 fails to do an action, they will be forced to file another legal charge against the members of the Board of Directors.
According to de Leon, the constitution and by-laws of NORECO states that if the election fails to take place, it should be done within the next 20 days. The 20 days allocation will be through this March 14.
De Leon explained that the election could still go on even if NORECO 2 still has a pending appeal at the Court of Appeals regarding Judge Winston Villegas’ decision to allow Henry Tam to be one of the candidates in the election.
The legal counsel of NORECO 2 Atty Saleto Erames has filed the motion at the Court of Appeals.
