According to Governor Macias, the soldiers personally approached the residents in order to convince them not to tolerate the presence of reds in the community. They also conduct regular conferences together with the residents in the area.
The governor explained that the local government is striving to reach the hinterbarangays and provide them with new improvements like farm to market roads. However, the governor also admitted the lack of heavy equipment for the completion of such projects and the constant appearance of bad weather.
Macias disclosed that one of the major projects which he is giving the most importance is the concreting of the provincial roads especially in the barangays. The governor particularly identified Barangay Linantuyan of Guihulngan City which is one of the known military influenced barangay.
