Ex-couple die from revenge
In a mother’s attempt to save her daughter from molestation, a gruesome crime happened at Barangay Mayabon, Zamboanguita.
The victim was identified as Dominador Tolentino, estimated to be 35 to 40 years old and a resident of Sitio Kabuayahan, Barangay Mayabon, Zamboanguita. According to the report, the victim went to the residence of Leonora Colot, 30, who is the former live-in partner of the victim bringing a 10-inch hunting knife and huge stones as he was looking for the father of Leonora identified as Narciso Colot, 60.
Because of fear upon seeing her former live-in partner bringing a knife and stones, Leonora immediately tried to flee bringing her nine-year-old daughter Stephanie and her nine-month-old son. The victim went after Leonora and her kids in a hot pursuit. While chasing his former partner, Tolentino met with Leonora’s father who was bringing a scythe as the latter is a tuba gatherer and was just thru collecting tuba. Without a word, the victim threw large stones on to Narciso. Narciso was hit in the head and when the victim realized that Narciso was already half conscious, he approached and stabbed him.
When Leonora saw that her father is facing his demise, she came to the rescue of her father but Tolentino was unstoppable and instead stabbed Leonora several times causing the latter’s untimely demise. While Tolentino was pre-occupied in stabbing his former wife, Narciso got the chance to get his scythe from his waist and directly slashed the neck of Tolentino leaving only a little skin to keep the head attached to the body.
Narciso voluntarily yielded to the police and was brought to the hospital for medications. It was found out that Tolentino was trying to get revenge after Leonora filed sexual abuse against him for allegedly molesting her nine-year old daughter, Stephanie.
