Baylon’s Camp to file Motion for Reconsideration
A motion for reconsideration will be filed within this week to the Department of Justice regarding the transfer of location of the preliminary investigation of the case multiple murders and multiple frustrated murders against former 1st district Congressman Jing Paras.
According to Atty. Raymund Mercado, legal counsel of complainant Jorlan Baylon , he has requested the acting Secretary Agnes Devenadera to send a State Prosecutor here in the province rather than transport the complainant and the witnesses in Manila which is very impractical.
Atty. Mercado believes that it is better for the State prosecutor to come because the transfer of the trial inconvenient for his party and it may endanger the lives of the witnesses.
Earlier, Paras, with his legal counsel based in Manila, has requested for a transfer of court in the capital office because he fears that Provincial Prosecutor Diosdado Hermosa will not be able to give a fair trial.
Complainant Jorlan Baylon is the son of the late Lydio Baylon who died in an ambush last March 9 at Barangay Manluminsag, La libertad.
The allegations against Paras are based on the testimony of prime suspect William Paunillian who pointed Paras as the mastermind of the ambush who strongly denies such allegtions.
The Department of Justice has already ordered the complete records of the case to their national office.
