One refused to take test
One of the five policemen in the city who were ordered to take a random drug test is positive of using illegal drugs revealed Dumaguete City police Chief Supt Dionardo Carlos.
However, Carlos opted not to reveal the name of the policeman positive in the drug test.
Earlier, Carlos said that those who will be proven positive of illegal drugs will face summary dismissal proceedings.
Meanwhile, Supt Carlos disclosed that an administrative case was already filed against a certain policeman who refused to take the drug test. He added that the Provincial Police Office under Sr/Supt Melvin Ramon Buenafe will conduct the investigation of the administrative case against the said police officer. He also said that they demanded for the reason of the police officer on why he refused to take the drug test. Carlos said that the random drug testing is done every year.
According to Supt Carlos that if that police officer has nothing to hide then there is no reason for him to refuse to take the drug test just like what the other police officers did.
The random drug testing of the police officers was done because of the reports which alleged that some police officers are illegal drug users themselves. He said that the police officer is one of the police men who are allegedly using illegal drugs.
