Gov supports military’s stand
Negros Oriental Governor Emilio Macias is asking the people of the Third District of the province to help explain the presence of the military forces in their area.
The governor stressed this request because of the continuous spread of malicious intrigue and allegations against the military saying that there are still harassments done to the residents of Santa Catalina and Siaton towns.
Earlier, the governor has met with Siaton Mayor Vincent Arbolado and the officials of the 79th Infantry Battalion led by Colonel Nestor Porlucas in order to discuss about the situation.
Just last week, the 61st Infantry Battalion has given a press release denying the allegations that they illegally arrested 2 of the residents of Sta. Catalina.
The Promotions for Church and People’s Response (PCPR) earlier claimed that there was another harassment done to some of the farmers of Sta. Catalina.
