NOCCI wants port reopened

The Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCI) expressed their great dismay regarding the closure of the port and is asking for immediate action from the authorities for the reopening of the port.

The Manifesto of NOCCI was announced through Atty Raymund Bobby Mercado which expresses great dismay of the situation at the port despite their efforts to help explain to the strikers on what is happening.

The organization of is calling for the immediate resume of the operations at the port since this has done great damage to the city and the province as well.

As a support to the call of NOCCI, some businessmen attended the city council session yesterday including Sylvestre Sung of Union Drugs and DCDB, Greg Uymatiao, Edward Uy of Joebon Marketing, Tyrone Uypitching, Dante Matiao, Marciano Kho, Ernsesto Quiamco, Michael Butler and others.

The manifesto read by Atty Mercado who is a member of NOCCI was signed by the President of the organization Councilor Chiquitting Sagarbarria. The strikers on the other hand did not attend the said session.
