Stable prices for basic commodities here?

There is no movement of the prices of the basic commodities here in the province and the whole Region 7 according to DTI Secretary Peter Favila who was interviewed by the media during President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s visit last Friday.

According to Secretary Favila that this is due to the “extensive price monitoring” which is done by its branch offices nationwide.

Unlike in Manila, Favila said in other Regions including here, no movements of prices were done. Favile said this according to the daily report of the DTI here.

Favila added that a fruitful result has been yield from the negotiations that his office has conducted along with some businessmen and manufacturers not to take advantage of the increase in prices of rice and oil. This is the reason why the prices of the basic commodities remain stable.
