Picketers ask for case withdrawal
The Associated Labor Union-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP) has requested the city government of Dumaguete to retract the case filed against the picketers at the port.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office has filed legal charges against the picketers of the port due to the alleged usage of the minors and children of the picketers as human shields during the dispersal.
During an interview at DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight, ALU-TUCP district Officer Felizardo Calimpong disclosed that he met with City Administrator Junnie Dumalag where he expressed their request for the city government to withdraw the filed case.
Calimpong said under the Memorandum of Agreement which was signed by the union, PPA and the Prudential Customs Brokerage Services Incorporated last April 24, it says that all legal charges filed will be withdrawn.
