Geothermal Exploration at Mt Canlaon eyed
There is an extreme need to conduct a study before conducting the proposed Geothermal Exploration which will be done at Mt. Canlaon. This was disclosed by Senator Pia Cayetano who recently visited here in the province.
According to the Senator who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment, she is for sustainable development. She said it is very essential to balance progress with the protection of the environment especially the declared protected areas. However, she also admitted that she is not yet familiar with the issue of conducting a geothermal exploration at the Buffer Zone of the Mt. Canlaon National Park.
