FEDUMCOA asks for another fare hike
The Federation of Dumaguete City Operators and Drivers Association (FEDUMCOA) asked for a fare price increase on multicabs for hire.
During yesterday afternoon’s city council regular session, FEDUMCOA President Glendo Selim attended in order to air out their request for a fare rate hike. The FEDUMCOA members want the fare price increased from P7.50 to P8.50. This is due to the continuous rise in the price of gasoline.
Under the fare rate adjustment scheme, the P60.00 or higher gasoline price is proportional to an P8.50 fare rate. The present gasoline price is already more than P60.00. However, Councilor Alan Cordova who was approached by Selim advised him that they would tackle the said issue by the next session since the city council is still discussing other matters.
