DUMAGUETE CITY COUNCIL
TO FUND AND APPROVE POLICE AUXILLARY FORCE
City Councilor Alan Cordova prime mover for the creation of an auxiliary police unit of Dumaguete City yesterday said that he is confident that the entire city council will declare its unanimous support for this noble ordinance which is intended to help augment police work the grossly undermanned city PNP. This is also duly seconded by Col Dionardo Carlos, chief of Police of the Dumaguete PNP who welcomes the move saying that the auxiliary police that the city will form will help a lot in improving police visibility. However, the two gentlemen said that the best form of augmentation of the police is a vigilant citizenry who will report and stand witness for crimes committed in the neighborhood and not rely solely with the authorities.
