Pamplona officials, employees
Ordered to leave their place
Officials and employees of the Pamplona Municipal Hall are now ordered to leave the land where the municipal hall is erected.
The Pamplona Plantation Holdings Incorporated sent a notice yesterday to the Municipal Government of Pamplona town saying that they are already taking back the piece of land which is occupied by private residents, business establishments, a local church and the municipal hall itself.
In his letter addressed to Pamplona Mayor Apolinario Arnaiz Jr, the President of the Pamplona Plantation Holdings Incorporated, former senator John Osmena persuaded the local government of Pamplona to buy the land on the amount of Php 3,000 per square meter or negotiate with them regarding the lease of the land.
According to Osmena in his letter, they are conducting an inventory of their plantation properties and they will seek legal actions from the court in order to abolish the squatters in the area in the following months to come.
Osmena said that the infrastructures built in the land were constructed prior to his presidency of the Pamplona Plantation Holdings Incorporated. Osmena took position in the year 1992.
The Plantation claimed ownership of the piece of land near the National Highway, from the municipal hall going eastward to the property of former Pamplona Mayor Douglas Diago which has an area of more than 40 hectares.
Some of the residents in the concerned area expressed their apprehension and fear saying that they have nowhere to go.
