Police’ death is work related?
There was already a threat to the life of the Bacong Police Officer who was shot dead the other night at Larena Drive, Barangay Motong, Dumaguete City said the victim’s wife.
Magdalena Arabe, slain SPO2 Avito Arabes’s wife, disclosed that her husband has mentioned to her that there is a threat to his life from a former military officer which was charged with illegal possession of firearms by the Bacong Police. SPO2 is an investigator of the Bacong Police.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Police already has a lead regarding the motive of the murder of SPO2 Arabe and the persons behind the crime disclosed Provincial Police Office Chief Sr/Supt Melvin Ramon Buenafe. According to him, the death of the police officer was work related. However, Buenafe did not give details regarding the progress of the crime.
According to Buenafe, anger was his first reaction when he was informed regarding Arabe’s death. He said that Arabe is a competent and hard-working police officer.
A caliber 38 bullet put an end to SPO2 Arabes’s life and Sr/Supt Buenafe believes that the suspect is an expert in handling the said fire arm. Based on the autopsy conducted by the PNP Crime Laboratory of Region 7, the victim was shot while he was on facing on his back. There is a possibility that the suspect was riding on a motorcycle and was following the victim.
