Bais Mayor supports Lakas-Kampi merging
Bais City Mayor Tata Villanueva agrees with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s notion of merging two of the country’s strong parties, Lakas and Kampi.
According to Mayor Villanueva, the Lakas party was saved from being torn after its President, former House Speaker Jose de Venecia resigned. He said that it was best for de Venecia to resign rather than he would keep on nagging which could then lead to the division of the party.
The Bais City mayor said that he was already foreseeing a very strong party in case there is merge between the two parties especially that a national election is set on 2010.
Mayor Villanueva was pleased with JDV’s resignation since during the last election JDV has endorsed unworthy candidates especially in the local level.
