79th IB has new Commander
The 79th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army has once again attained a new Battalion Commander.
Lt. Col Erwin Bernad Lim Neri will now lead the 79th Infantry Battalion which is now posted in Siaton Town. This was the command brought by Lt Col Nestor Porlucas under the order of Major General Jovenal Narcise of the 3rd Infantry Battalion Division.
Porlucas has also served as the Battalion Commander of the 79th Infantry Battalion after he was reactivated two years ago in Camp Macario Peralta of Jamindan, Capiz where it was first deployed in Panay, transferred to Bohol and finally here in Negros Oriental for nearly two months now.
The 79th Infantry Battalion is tasked to neutralize the Komiteng Rehiyonal Sentral Bisayas of the New People’s Army under the 302nd Infantry Battalion.
The dismantling of the three more guerilla fronts is also given to the 11th, 15th and 61st Infantry Battalions. Porlucas’ new assignment is still unknown.
